Corrected commercial invoice email template (English)

Send the buyer or customs broker a corrected commercial invoice: what was wrong, what changed, and which document replaces which. The emails are in English, the usual language of international trade. Nothing you type is sent to Triplicate.

Tips for this email

  1. Say exactly what changed (for example the quantity, unit price, HS code or Incoterms rule) and mark the new invoice clearly as corrected or revised, referring to the original number.
  2. Send it before the goods are declared if you can: a customs declaration based on a wrong invoice may have to be corrected by the importer, which takes time and can cost money.
  3. Check that the packing list, certificate of origin and transport document still agree with the corrected invoice, and correct them too if needed.
