Letter of credit amendment request email template (English)

Ask the buyer to have the letter of credit amended when its terms do not match the sales contract or proforma invoice. The emails are in English, the usual language of international trade. Nothing you type is sent to Triplicate.

Tips for this email

  1. Check the whole credit against the contract first and list every change in one request: each amendment usually costs a bank fee and takes time.
  2. Give the current wording and the wording you need, clause by clause, for example the Incoterms rule, the latest shipment date, the documents required or your company name.
  3. Ship only after the amendment has been issued and advised to you, and prepare the documents to match the credit as amended.
