What Triplicate does

The generator turns one form into matching trade documents: proforma invoice, commercial invoice, packing list, shipping instruction, purchase order, sales contract and a general certificate of origin, saved as PDF or Excel. Around it are free tools for the questions that come up while shipping: Incoterms 2020 rules, HS codes, container sizes and loading, pallets, CBM, volumetric weight, port codes, container numbers, demurrage, letters of credit and export emails. The documents are built in your browser and are not sent to our servers, except text you choose to send to the optional AI features, as the privacy policy explains.

How the trade notes are written and checked

Each trade note is checked against official sources: laws and regulations, customs and other government agencies, the International Chamber of Commerce and the carriers' own published terms. The sources are listed at the end of every note, with the month it was last checked. Figures, fees or dates that could not be confirmed in an official source are left out rather than guessed, and notes are updated when the rules change. They are practical guidance, not legal advice: for a real shipment, confirm with the authority, your customs broker, forwarder or bank.

Where the data comes from

HS codes follow the WCO's HS 2022 nomenclature; port and place codes come from UN/LOCODE, published by UNECE; container check digits and owner prefixes follow ISO 6346 and the BIC register; container outside sizes follow ISO 668, and inside sizes and weights come from a major carrier's published specifications. Incoterms® is a trademark of the International Chamber of Commerce; the pages give a plain-language summary, and the full rules are published by the ICC.

How Triplicate is paid for

Everything above is free. The site shows ads on some pages, and an optional Pro plan removes them and adds features such as saved buyers and products, more AI quick fill and a company stamp. Pro can be paid by card or in USDT.

Report a mistake

If a page is wrong or out of date, or a document is missing something you need, use the Feedback button at the top of the generator. Corrections to the trade notes are made as soon as they are confirmed in an official source.
