Shipping advice email template (English)

Tell the buyer the goods have shipped: vessel, ports, dates, B/L and container numbers, packages. The emails are in English, the usual language of international trade. Nothing you type is sent to Triplicate.

Tips for this email

  1. Send it on the day the goods are loaded or depart: many sales contracts and letters of credit ask for it within a set number of days.
  2. Give the vessel and voyage, ETD and ETA, B/L and container numbers, and the packages with weight and volume.
  3. Under FCA, FAS, FOB and CFR the buyer insures the cargo, so it needs this notice quickly.
