Import label maker
See what the destination country requires on a food or cosmetics label, type the label text and print supplementary labels (sub-labels) on sticker sheets or a label printer.
What the label must show
Label text
Type each line in the language of the label. You can change any heading or add your own lines; empty lines are not printed.
This tool lists the label items from our guides, checked against official sources; it is not legal advice. Agree the final text with your importer, and print a test page on plain paper first to check that it lines up with your labels.
Guides on this topic
What a supplementary (sub-) label is
Many countries want the mandatory label information in their own language. When the package was printed for another market, a supplementary label – a sticker with the required items in the local language – is added before the goods are sold, and in some countries before customs clearance. In Vietnam, for example, the original label stays on the goods and the Vietnamese label is added; in Türkiye a permanent Turkish sticker must be on the goods before official import controls start.
Which items go on the sticker
Start from the list for your destination and product. The product name, ingredients, net quantity, dates, country of origin and the importer's or responsible person's name and address come up in most countries. Some items need their own format on the package and are not printed by this tool, such as nutrition tables, front-of-pack warning symbols and logos.
Printing on sticker sheets
Choose the sheet that matches your labels and print at 100% scale, not "fit to page". Print a test page on plain paper first and hold it over a label sheet against the light to check the alignment. Use a smaller font only while the text stays easy to read: some countries set a minimum text size, shown in the list above.
Common questions
Can a sticker cover the original label?
Rules differ by country. Vietnam keeps the original label and adds a Vietnamese one; other countries allow a local-language sticker as long as it does not hide mandatory information. Check the "Stickers" line for your destination and the full guide.
Who is responsible for the label of imported goods?
Usually the importer or the local responsible person, whose name and address appear on the label. Agree the final text with them before you print.
Can I translate the label myself?
The rules ask for accurate information in the local language; they do not say who translates it. Ingredient names, allergens and warnings must be exact, so have the text checked by your importer or a native speaker who knows the rules.
Is my label text saved or sent anywhere?
No. The text stays in your browser. If you click Save, the label is stored in this browser only, so you can reuse it next time.
