Indonesia food labeling (BPOM): Indonesian label, BPOM number, Nutri-Level
Processed food imported into Indonesia for retail sale must be labeled in Indonesian before it arrives. BPOM Regulation No. 31/2018, amended by Regulations No. 20/2021 and No. 6/2024, sets the label content, the label is submitted when the product is registered with BPOM, and a 2026 regulation adds the Nutri-Level front-of-pack grade, mandatory for beverages from 17 June 2028.

What an Indonesian food label must show
BPOM Regulation No. 31/2018, amended by Regulations No. 20/2021 and No. 6/2024, sets the labeling of processed food. The label shows the product name, the list of ingredients, net weight or volume, the name and address of the manufacturer or importer, the date or production code, the use-by date, the BPOM registration number and, for certain food products, their source.
Processed food imported for retail sale must carry an Indonesian-language label before it arrives in Indonesia, and supplementary Indonesian stickers may be used. The label is one of the documents submitted when the product is registered with BPOM, so the Indonesian text is fixed before the first shipment.

Nutri-Level and halal
